Sit N Go Poker Tournaments
4 February 2009
Sit n Go Tournaments are a unique form of poker tournament that is ideally suited for games of No Limit Texas Hold’em. In order to play in this type of tournament, each player pays the buy-in, which is expressed through two numbers. For example, a common buy in for a sit n go tournament is $10+$1. This equation means the player actually has to pay $11, $10 for the pot and $1 for the casino.
Unlike typical poker tournaments, the blinds in a sit n go tournament go up incrementally to keep the play going. In some tournaments, the blind raises every couple of hands. However, most tournaments use a timing system, where the blind raises after a set amount of time.
Due to the fact that sit n go poker tournaments are quick rounds, they offer the player the chance to play a fast paced and variable game. Most sit n go tournaments only have one table, so players are constantly being shuffled in and out of the seats. As a benefit to this style of gaming, players lose less money in a quick sit n go than they would lose in a normal tournament due to the small buy ins. Sin n go poker tournaments also have a definite ending point, which can be very helpful for players who need the structure of a tournament to know when to walk away from the table.
